Acupuncture points used to treat generalized anxiety disorders and anxiety attacks

ANXIETY, FEAR and AGITATION

(Worry and over-thinking).

The main points for treating anxiety disorders are the He (heart) and P (pericardium) points on the lower arm and the CV points on the upper abdomen  and chest. Of the above, He5, P6, and CV15 are the points most frequently found to be the most effective at alleviating the symptoms.
CV15 is particularly useful as it is capable of addressing some symptoms of irritability and anger at the same time, and often has a marked ‘cheering’ effect on your mood when treated. However, it is a good idea to palpate ALL the points that are listed above and treat the most tender points, as they will usually be the appropriate points for you at that moment in time. If you suffer from severe or frequent symptoms then treating yourself on a daily basis is the most sensible course of action.

If you know that you are going into a situation that causes anxiety or agitation, then it is a good idea to treat the point/s that you have found to be most effective, or that are most tender, immediately prior to the event.

If you purchase our micro therapy units you can simply leave them running on the effective point/s during any anxiety situation and just turn them off when they are not required.

Many people find that by just treating the most tender Heart or Pericardium point on their lower arm with the MAD-1 micro therapy unit,  they can effectively prevent their anxiety from arising at all.

The MAD-1 specifically comes with a custom designed strap to make it easy and convenient to treat these points discreetly.

You should also bare in mind that if you are also experiencing other strong emotions at the same time, then you will need to treat these simultaneously. For anger or irritability you will, in most instances, need to simultaneously  treat a point such as Liv 2 or Liv 3 to address this part of the emotional ‘pattern’ that you are experiencing.

Regular treatment of effective points tends to reduce the likelihood of experiencing the undesirable symptoms.

Frequent use of the MAD-1 micro therapy unit will reduce the frequency of the anxiety symptoms and also equips you with valuable experience, so that you will know exactly where to put the MAD-1 to abate anxiety symptoms should the need arise.

PANIC ATTACKS

Panic attacks are often found to occur in people who have been exposed to prolonged or extreme emotional stress or who have suffered from a poor diet, overwork, substance abuse or have poor assimilation of certain minerals, such as Magnesium. In respect of acupuncture, these factors are seen as resulting in an individuals energy system being depleted and having blockages to its free-flow of Qi.

The panic attack itself is attributed to the sudden and uncontrolled release of the blocked energy, resulting in rushing sensations, uncontrolled shaking and inability to control and coordinate ones actions. Individuals who are prone to this type of disorder are recommended to avoid all stimulants including tea, coffee, chocolate and alcohol as they can exacerbate the problem.

The points for preventative treatment of panic attacks are mainly the same points that are used for anxiety, as they are frequently the result of similar blockages and depletions in the body’s energy systems. It is also a good idea to regularly palpate the points listed below to ascertain if they are tender, if so, then also treat them with MAD-1s as prevention is infinitely better than enduring a panic attack.
